Just a few minutes from Villandro lies Chiusa, an artists’ town with a medieval core, narrow lanes and rustic inns. Bressanone (15 delights with its picturesque old town, baroque cathedral and the nearby Novacella monastery, one of the most important and precious monasteries in Tyrol. In Bolzano (30 km), the capital of South Tyrol, the Italian sense of Dolce Vita and alpine tradition merge – perfect for a stroll across Piazza Walther or a visit to the world-famous Ötzi Museum.

Underground in the Villandro mine

For centuries, valuable ores were extracted here – today you can dive deep into the history of mining in old Tyrol at the Villandro mine. Guided tours lead through narrow tunnels and tell of the hard life of the miners. An exciting adventure for young and old.
